Janet joined Thai Airways International in 1978. Janet played an integral part in the leadership group that built the basis for the tourism industry in Thailand to become what it is today.
After 15 years with Thai, a new challenge was presented at British Airways to manage the implementation and growth of the airline’s Executive Club in Australia and New Zealand. This resulted in a new level of commercial experience and business acumen.
In 1997, Janet joined Qantas Holidays recognised the importance of land product and liaison with suppliers and created the new role of Manager Product on the senior management team.
This role successfully managed a large team to deliver worldwide product for the Qantas Holidays businesses in all key selling channels, markets worldwide.
During this time, Qantas Holidays grew to become the leading tour wholesaler in Australia and Janet arguably developed one of the most comprehensive understandings of Australian tourism and its issues and challenges, working at senior levels with tourism bodies and suppliers across the spectrum of the industry including accommodation businesses of all styles and levels together with car, transfer and tour operators.
The Qantas Holidays leadership team were directly responsible for bottom line profit and all aspects of corporate governance for the company.
Janet remains firmly committed to the Australian tourism and clearly understands the key drivers to create success and unlock the potential for all participants in the industry both domestically and internationally.
