Travel Industry Mentor Experience

Guiding the professionals of the future

A not-for-profit organisation established in 2009, its vision is to be the leading mentor program within the travel and tourism industry in the Asia Pacific region by providing the transfer of knowledge, experience and wisdom.

Phil Hoffmann, Phil Hoffmann Travel:“Mentoring is an integral part of the success of our business and the Travel and Tourism Industry as a whole would be much improved with the continuance and expansion of this valuable initiative to further encourage aspiring and entrepreneurial employees to become leaders of the future." Mentoring relationships occur in all aspects of life where experienced individuals take on a role as a trusted advisor to fledgling achievers. Many travel and tourism organisations have mentoring as an internal process, often perpetuating systems and habits that are entrenched in the organisational culture.

One of our first Mentees Megan Hill, now Managing Director, Cruise Express International:"It has provided me with access to some of the best entrepreneurial minds and most highly experienced individuals in the industry. It is a tremendous vehicle for providing leadership and guidance to those with the ambition and drive to better themselves and collectively take the industry forward..... I cannot speak highly enough of the TIME program." The aim and differentiator for TIME is the careful matching of Mentee and Mentor to ensure broad industry exposure to new people, ideas, concepts and ways of doing things from a broad range of travel and tourism sectors.

Our Mission is to provide knowledge, guidance and advice to aspirational individuals within the Travel and Tourism Industry allowing them to advance and grow their careers.

Mentor and Mentee are partnered over a six month period in a program of regular meetings. Networking events featuring inspirational guest speakers drawn from the ranks of our Industry’s top achievers,  provide opportunities  to encounter  the Industry’s senior executives and decision makers on a six weekly basis.  The outcome: personal and professional growth, strategic career plans, new networks, job satisfaction, confidence and enduring friendships.

A lot of people have gone further than they thought they could because someone else thought they could. Unknown
